When are the lessons?

Please see our timetable of dance lessons.

Trial lesson

We know that it’s difficult to commit to a term of lessons without knowing whether they are right for you or your child.  You can book one free trial lesson before making a commitment.  If you’d like to do this please contact us.

How to book / register

To book taster lessons or register for a term’s lessons please contact us.

How do I pay?

Invoices are issued after the first trial lesson and can be paid by BACS.

Invoices are usually issued at the end of each term to be paid by the first day of the next one.

What do the children wear for the first few lessons?

Leggings, or slim-fit joggers and a full length t-shirt are fine for trial classes.  Bare feet for Modern, Contemporary and Ballet, please bring fastening outdoor shoes and socks for Tap.

Where can I buy the uniform?

Please see our Uniform pages for full details.

When do the children start taking exams?

Exams can start from age 5+. We encourage students to take exams but they are optional.  Students can progress with their friends if they have had good attendance and have completed the syllabus.

Exams are important to work for, and give the students a focus and a boost of self-confidence after the effort put in.

Can children do lessons without taking exams?

Yes they can but we have found that children are often keen to do the exams with their peers and they even enjoy the fuss and sense of occasion!

Is there any parking?

The Pound Arts Centre in Corsham has a small car park, with various parking in the surrounding roads if it is full.  The car park is busy around 15:00-15:45 in the week and on Saturdays between 09:00-12:00.

You can park at Corsham Primary (just across the road) on Saturdays and after 18:00 on weekdays.

Classes held at The Corsham School Dance Studio have parking available at the rear of the school, off Beechfield Road in gated area opposite the hockey pitch.

Do I need to stay on the premises?

Parents/guardians should ensure that students under the age of 5 years old have a parent or designated guardian who remains on the premises for the duration of the lesson.  This could be one Parent/Guardian in charge of a few children.

Is there somewhere to wait?

Yes, at The Pound in Corsham there is the added bonus of the cafe and art exhibitions. There is nowhere to wait at Corsham Secondary School however the Leisure Centre is close by.

Can I watch the lessons?

Not week-to-week,  but we schedule ‘watching lessons’ periodically.
